Speculation regarding a possible crossover between KGF and Salaar heightened after singer Theertha Subhash seemingly hinted at Yash’s involvement in the latter during a media interaction in Kerala. Post her victory in a singing competition, she inadvertently referred to ‘Yash’s uncle’ as part of Salaar, sparking assumptions of Yash’s cameo in the film.
However, following the buzz created by her statement, Theertha clarified her remarks on social media, stating that her assumption about Yash’s role in Salaar was based on discussions about KGF. She explained, “My father mentioned to me that the team of Salaar was the same ones who made KGF. So, I assumed that Yash’s uncle would also be in Salaar,” highlighting her misconception rooted in ongoing conversations about KGF.
Amidst rumours suggesting Salaar is a remake of Prashanth Neel’s film Ugramm, producer Vijay dismissed these claims, affirming that the movie offers a completely original storyline, dispelling any remake speculations. Initially slated for a September release, the film’s debut was rescheduled to December 22 due to post-production delays, with the chosen date attributed to astrological considerations.
Set in the fictional city of Khansaar, Salaar delves into a narrative where a transition of power occurs from father to son. When a coup is plotted to overthrow the ruling family, the son seeks the aid of his childhood friend to restore harmony and stability in the city.
