The much-anticipated release of Thalapathy Vijay‘s upcoming film, “Leo,” has left fans eagerly counting down the days until October 19. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, “Leo” is set to conquer the screens in multiple languages, and its booking in the USA has already created a buzz.
Advance booking for “Leo” kicked off in the USA on September 27, and as the release date approaches, the film has garnered a substantial amount from pre-bookings. According to Box Office India, the film is scheduled for release in the USA on October 18.
A glance at the collections in the top 10 states of the USA, including Texas, California, Washington, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, and more, reveals that “Leo” is expected to make a remarkable day one collection of $784,520 (approximately Rs 6.5 crore) with 1310 shows in 537 theatres. The report indicates that approximately 34,955 tickets have been sold in the USA.
The advance booking collections for “Leo” in the USA across different languages are as follows:
- Tamil: $702,636 (approximately Rs 5.8 crore)
- Telugu: $81,502 (approximately Rs 60 lakh)
- Hindi: $382 (approximately Rs 31,765)

“Leo” boasts a star-studded cast, including Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, Priya Anand, Kiran Rathore, Sandy Master, Babu Antony, George Maryan, and Abhirami Venkatachalam, among others.
The film marks the reunion of director Lokesh and Thalapathy Vijay, while it brings Trisha and Vijay back together as the lead pair after a hiatus of 12 years.
In terms of pre-release business, “Leo” is set to run for 2 hours and 44 minutes and has already recovered its substantial budget of around Rs 300 crore. The film was a commercial success even before its release, fetching approximately Rs 500 crore for its producers through various rights, including theatrical, digital, audio, and satellite.
Produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, “Leo” has set records by selling its Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for a whopping Rs 100 crore on a minimum guarantee basis. Film enthusiasts and critics alike predict that “Leo” will be a blockbuster akin to Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release, “Jawan,” which has grossed Rs 1,119 crore worldwide. Thalapathy Vijay’s film is expected to join the exclusive club of movies crossing the Rs 1,000 crore mark.
