The highly anticipated movie “Leo,” featuring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is creating an immense buzz in the South Indian film industry. Exciting news has surfaced that the teaser of the film will be unveiled on Vijay’s birthday, June 22. What makes it even more special is the rumoured involvement of legendary actor Kamal Haasan lending his voice, although an official confirmation is still awaited.
“Leo” is said to be part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe, and the director is keen on incorporating characters from his previous films into Vijay’s latest venture. The collaboration between Vijay and Kamal Haasan in the movie “Vikram” was a blockbuster success, and fans are eagerly awaiting the teaser release to gain insights into the film’s connection to Lokesh’s larger universe. The prospect of watching Vijay on screen with Haasan’s voice-over has generated tremendous excitement among the audience.
Regarding the film’s cast, Trisha Krishnan has been roped in as the female lead, marking her reunion with Vijay after a gap of 14 years. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will portray the antagonist in the film. Recent reports suggest that Dutt will be essaying the role of Thalapathy Vijay’s father in “Leo.” The movie revolves around Vijay’s character, a gangster in his forties who resides in Kashmir, leading a peaceful life away from the world of gang wars by managing a chocolate factory.
In addition to Vijay and Trisha, “Leo” boasts an ensemble cast, including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, and others in supporting roles. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The theatrical release of “Leo” is scheduled for October 19, 2023, in Tamil, with dubbed versions expected in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages.
Following “Leo,” Thalapathy Vijay has already announced his next project with director Venkat Prabhu, tentatively titled “Thalapathy68,” where Jyothika is expected to be the female lead.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is currently occupied with the shooting of “Indian 2” directed by Shankar. After this venture, the versatile actor has exciting projects lined up, including a socially responsible film directed by H Vinoth and a collaboration with renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam.
As the release of “Leo” draws closer, fans of Thalapathy Vijay and Tamil cinema are eagerly awaiting the teaser unveiling on his birthday, with the anticipation of witnessing another memorable cinematic experience.
