Telangana Congress leader Kota Neelima criticized BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) for how the state has been managed financially over the last ten years. Neelima’s comments responded to KTR’s tweet, in which he praised the state’s economic growth under BRS policies.
Neelima tweeted to KTR that if Congress had been in power, Telangana would have been first in per capita income a decade ago. She added, “Instead, the BRS government has left the state with over Rs 6.71 lakh crore in debt.” Neelima also said that the Congress party is now trying to fix the financial issues caused by the BRS.
Again, don’t mislead @KTRBRS.
Had Congress party been in power, Telangana would have been ranked number 1 in per capita income 10 years ago.
Instead, Telangana was fleeced by BRS. Today, our state has a debt of over Rs 6,71,000 crore due to BRS policies for last 10 years.… https://t.co/NbTctYNDln

KTR replied to Neelima’s comments, saying that the growth in per capita income is due to the “progressive policies” of the BRS government over the past ten years. He noted that the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh confirmed that Telangana now has India’s highest per capita income because of BRS policies. KTR thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for this acknowledgement.
KTR also challenged Neelima, suggesting that she could not accept the reality of Telangana’s economic progress under BRS leadership. He said, “Please educate your erratic erstwhile disciple who is unable to digest this fact.”
