The silver screen witnessed a magical fusion as Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan paired up for the first time in Rajkumar Hirani’s much-anticipated film, ‘Dunki.’ Their on-screen chemistry in this charming love story has garnered immense appreciation, captivating the hearts of audiences.
In a recent conversation with Times of India, Taapsee Pannu candidly shared her experiences of portraying a romantic relationship alongside Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Dunki.’ She admitted to the challenge of not succumbing to a frozen state when confronted with Shah Rukh Khan’s heartfelt expressions. Reflecting on their shared scenes, she revealed, “When he gazes at you with those expressions, it immediately takes you back to the classic romantic films he’s renowned for. It’s like slipping into those beloved memories of his performances we’ve cherished. In the initial days, it was hard not to be overwhelmed in those moments, given most of our scenes were together.”
Discussing her interactions with the iconic actor on the movie set, Taapsee expressed that while one carries a reel of his remarkable moments on-screen – be it his songs or dialogues – meeting him in person is not synonymous with encountering an intimidating persona. She emphasized, “Despite all the positive imagery we associate with his on-screen persona, he is remarkably friendly and approachable.”
Taapsee elaborated on her internal struggle after encountering Shah Rukh Khan, admitting to moments of self-reminder. She shared, “After initial meetings, I had to consciously ground myself, reminding myself that he’s just a person sitting in front of me. I kept it to myself, for it would have been peculiar to share. Maintaining a confident façade externally, internally, there’s a certain apprehension.”
‘Dunki’ made its grand release on December 21, following a series of promotional drops comprising trailers and song releases, marking the beginning of this captivating tale on the big screen.
