In a highly anticipated development, the National award-winning trio of Suriya, director Sudha Kongara, and music maestro GV Prakash Kumar are set to collaborate once again for their upcoming project tentatively titled Suriya 43. As the production team finalizes filming locations, the project is slated to commence shooting within a few weeks, generating significant excitement among fans and the film industry.
Notably, Suriya’s character in Suriya 43 is rumoured to portray a college student, a departure from his previous roles, adding a layer of intrigue to the project. While official confirmation is pending, reports suggest that his character will exude intensity, drawing parallels to his memorable portrayal of Michael Vasanth in Mani Ratnam’s Aaytha Ezhuthu (2004). To authentically embody this role, Suriya is reportedly undertaking a rigorous fitness regime, aiming to attain a youthful appearance distinct from his previous roles, including his acclaimed performance in the 2020 film Soorarai Pottru.
The film’s ensemble cast includes the versatile Vijay Varma in the role of the antagonist, alongside the esteemed performances of Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya in pivotal roles. Additionally, Suriya 43 holds special significance as it marks the 100th project for the renowned national composer, GV Prakash Kumar, further elevating the anticipation surrounding the film.
In recent ventures, Suriya made a compelling cameo appearance as Rolex in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram, featuring an illustrious cast including Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil. The director had hinted at a potential spin-off based on the character Rolex, although official details about the project’s timeline are yet to be revealed. Furthermore, Suriya made a notable guest appearance in R. Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, showcasing his versatility and continued contributions to the cinematic landscape.
Meanwhile, Suriya remains actively involved in other projects, including the highly anticipated Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga, a period action drama directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green and UV Creations.
