The Tamil film industry is gearing up for a big box office clash this Diwali 2023. Two of the biggest stars of South cinema, Sivakarthikeyan and Dhanush, are all set to release their much-awaited movies, ‘Ayalaan’ and ‘Captain Miller,’ respectively, on the same day. While Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Ayalaan’ has been facing several delays, the movie has finally got a release date and is scheduled for Diwali this year. On the other hand, Dhanush’s ‘Captain Miller’ has been making headlines since the announcement of the project.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, ‘Captain Miller’ is set against the backdrop of the 1930s-40s and includes an element of dark humour. The film has been presented by T.G. Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

Meanwhile, ‘Ayalaan’ is a science fiction project directed by R. Ravikumar and produced by Kotapadi J. Rajesh under KJR Studios. The film will see Sivakarthikeyan share the screen with Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, and Isha Koppikar, among others.

Apart from this clash, the two movies will also face competition from another blockbuster scheduled for Diwali release, Karthi’s ‘Japan.’ Helmed by Raju Murugan of ‘Joker’ fame, the first look of the film promised that Karthi will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar.

It will be interesting to see which movie will be favoured by the audience and make it big at the box office. Fans of both stars are eagerly waiting for the release of their respective movies, and this clash will undoubtedly make Diwali 2023 a thrilling time for Tamil cinema.
