Shruti Haasan Shares Nostalgic Moment, Revisits an Old Song from Her Past

Renowned actress and singer Shruti Haasan recently took to Instagram to share a nostalgic moment with her fans and followers. In a heartfelt post, she shared a video of herself singing one of the very first songs she had written, evoking a rush of memories for the artist.

The video featured Shruti singing a song called “Why,” which she composed at the tender age of 20. She revealed that when she initially wrote the song, she was not in a good place emotionally. However, as the years passed, the actress underwent personal growth and learned to honour and respect all her emotions with grace.

In the caption accompanying the video, Shruti expressed her journey of self-discovery and emotional resilience. She wrote, “So wrote this when I was twenty… it was one of those songs I loved but it made me feel a bit silly, so I never really thought to revisit it even… Over time, I’ve learned to honour and respect all of my emotions and give them the space and grace they deserve.”

Shruti also shared an interesting detail about the song’s origin. She mentioned that it was a part of her first-ever EP, although it was titled “Tamizh” back then, as it contained a few lines of Tamil poetry at the beginning. The writer of that poetry was none other than her father, renowned actor Kamal Haasan.

The heartfelt video and caption struck a chord with Shruti’s followers, who flooded the post with comments praising her vocals and songwriting skills. Even Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan took the time to appreciate the song, leaving a comment stating, “Amazing song.”
