A recent buzz about Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan joining the much-awaited Dhoom 4 created a stir among enthusiasts of the franchise. However, clarifying the air, a source revealed to Indian Express that the reports circulating about Shah Rukh’s role in Dhoom 4 are currently baseless. The insider stated, “The news of Shah Rukh Khan starring in Dhoom 4 is unfounded. Nothing is locked yet.”
Although reports suggested Shah Rukh Khan and Ram Charan would lead the fourth instalment, the uncertainties persist as the film’s casting remains unresolved. The work on Dhoom 4 is purportedly in progress, but the final ensemble for the film remains a mystery.
The Dhoom series, initiated in 2004 with a high-octane action thriller directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, enjoyed immense commercial success. The franchise continued with Dhoom 2 in 2006, featuring Hrithik Roshan alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu, and Uday Chopra. Dhoom 3 in 2013 starred Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Uday Chopra, and Jackie Shroff, further elevating the series’ popularity.
Abhishek Bachchan, reminiscing about Dhoom 3’s milestone, commemorated the film’s 10th anniversary by sharing nostalgic moments from the movie on social media. His Instagram post honouring the occasion included snippets from the film, marking a decade since its release.
Contrary to Dhoom 4 speculations, Shah Rukh Khan’s most recent appearance was in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, focusing on the poignant issue of immigration. The film, which premiered on December 21, highlighted the perils of migration through the narrative of a “donkey journey,” receiving a mixed response from audiences. Starring alongside Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, Dunki is a collaboration between JIO Studios and Rajkumar Hirani Films.
As anticipation mounts for Dhoom 4’s development, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans await official announcements, while Dunki continues to evoke varied reactions, navigating the sensitive theme of immigration in contemporary times.
