Shah Rukh Khan’s Films ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunki’ Garner Massive Pre-Release Collections

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who made a grand comeback earlier this year with the film “Pathaan,” seems to be on a winning streak once again. The digital rights of “Jawan” have been sold for a staggering 250 crores, while “Dunki” secured non-theatrical rights for a whopping 230 crores.

“Jawan,” directed by renowned Tamil filmmaker Atlee, is an intense action-thriller that has already generated immense buzz among fans. The film, slated to release on September 7, 2023, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. According to a Box Office Worldwide report, several music companies expressed interest in buying the rights to the film, which eventually went to a prominent digital platform. Additionally, T-Series secured the music rights for Rs 36 crore. With the film’s positive buzz and massive pre-release collections, “Jawan” is poised to shatter previous box office records.

“Dunki,” helmed by acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani, promises to showcase Shah Rukh Khan in a never-before-seen avatar. Described as a lighthearted comedy-drama, “Dunki” also features the talented Taapsee Pannu in a pivotal role. The film’s non-theatrical rights have been acquired by Jio Cinema for a staggering sum of 230 crores. Scheduled to hit theatres on December 22, “Dunki” has already created a lot of anticipation among fans.

The Indian Express quoted a source close to Shah Rukh Khan as saying, “The rights of ‘Jawan’ – digital, satellite, and music – have been sold for about 250 crores. The rights of ‘Dunki’ have been sold for about Rs 230 crores, which individually stands as the highest for any film to date.” These massive pre-release collections highlight the incredible popularity and anticipation surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming projects.

With his recent film “Pathaan” reportedly surpassing Rs 1000 crore worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the silver screen has been nothing short of a triumph. Fans eagerly await the releases of “Jawan” and “Dunki,” anticipating yet another stellar performance from the charismatic actor.
