The anticipation surrounding Thalapathy Vijay‘s much-awaited Tamil film, Leo, has encountered a setback in the wake of recent developments concerning early morning showtimes. Despite initial requests for 4 AM and 7 AM screenings, negotiations and discussions with the Tamil Nadu government have resulted in the denial of permission for early morning screenings, including both proposed time slots.
The prolonged legal battle and subsequent negotiations with government officials culminated in the government’s decision to restrict screenings to a 9 AM start time across theatres in Tamil Nadu. This decision aligns with the standard showtime protocol set by the authorities, marking a significant deviation from the producers’ initial aspirations for early morning showings.
However, Leo is poised to offer early morning screenings in other states, including Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, indicating the continued excitement and fervour surrounding the film’s much-anticipated release. Notably, the film’s international premiere has garnered significant attention, with tickets selling out swiftly, underscoring the widespread anticipation and eagerness among audiences worldwide.
Amidst the dynamic developments, the booking records for Leo have surged, surpassing expectations both domestically and internationally, attesting to the enduring popularity and appeal of Thalapathy Vijay’s cinematic ventures.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, in a recent interview, emphasized the importance of experiencing the film with an open mind, particularly urging viewers not to miss the impactful first ten minutes, which sets the tone for the entire cinematic narrative. With a star-studded ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Arjun Das, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, and Sandy, Leo promises a captivating cinematic journey complemented by a compelling soundtrack composed by the talented Anirudh Ravichander.
Despite the temporary setback in show timings, the prevailing excitement and fervour surrounding Leo’s impending release signal a promising reception for the film within the vibrant landscape of Tamil cinema.
