The entertainment industry is shrouded in sorrow as veteran Tamil and Telugu actor Sathyaraj, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Kattappa in the “Baahubali” franchise, bids a heartfelt farewell to his mother. The actor’s beloved mother, aged 94, breathed her last on August 11, leaving behind a legacy of love, memories, and an indelible impact on the lives she touched.

Sathyaraj, who was engrossed in his professional commitments, immediately suspended his ongoing shoot and rushed to Coimbatore upon receiving the news of his mother’s passing. The actor had been filming in Hyderabad for an upcoming project, underlining his dedication to his craft. The final rites are set to be conducted in their hometown, Coimbatore, as the industry and fans collectively grieve this loss.

In this time of sorrow, numerous voices from the film fraternity have united to express their condolences and support for Sathyaraj and his family. Leading the tributes is Kamal Haasan, a close friend and associate of Sathyaraj. Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to share his heartfelt sentiments in Tamil, saying, “Friend #Sathyaraj’s mother, Ilaval @Sibi_Sathyaraj. Their grandmother, Mrs. I, was deeply saddened to hear the news of Natambal Kalingarayar’s demise. My deepest condolences to the bereaved mother and her family.”

Kamal Haasan‘s gesture is a testament to the profound bond shared between him and Sathyaraj. This camaraderie has translated into numerous professional collaborations, where Kamal Haasan bestowed opportunities upon Sathyaraj in his films, both as an antagonist and a protagonist. Moreover, Sathyaraj was also entrusted with the role of the hero in a film produced by Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal Films.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, a respected figure in the industry, also joined in offering condolences through social media, sharing his sympathies for Sathyaraj’s loss.

Director Seenu Ramasamy, known for his impactful storytelling, also expressed his condolences on social media, reflecting the unity and empathy within the film fraternity during times of sorrow.

Sathyaraj’s illustrious career has spanned over 240 films, encompassing languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. He commenced his journey in the world of cinema with antagonistic roles, eventually ascending to lead roles that showcased his versatility and prowess.

However, it was his portrayal of Kattappa in Prabhas and SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Baahubali” that catapulted him to global recognition. Despite the presence of a star-studded ensemble, including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, and Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj’s performance resonated deeply with audiences, leaving an indelible mark that continues to endure.
