In a world where unrealistic beauty standards often take centre stage, South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has emerged as a refreshing icon of authenticity. During a recent live interaction with her fans on Instagram, Samantha took a moment to address a fan’s compliment about her glowing skin and candidly admitted that it was a filter.
Samantha’s fans admire her not just for her talent but also for her honesty and openness about her struggles. The talented actress, known for her roles in films like ‘Kushi,’ ‘Rangasthalam,’ and ‘Super Deluxe,’ revealed the truth about her skin during the Instagram session.
When a user asked Samantha how she maintained such clear skin, she responded with refreshing honesty. She said, “It’s not. Chinmayi Sripada is going to fix that, she’s promised. She’s going to make my skin glossy. Actually, because of this issue, I had to be on so many steroids, I had to do a lot of steroid shots, so it messed up my skin, and gave me a lot of pigmentation. So no, this is a filter, guys.”
Samantha’s sincerity and willingness to share her personal experiences with her fans have endeared her even more to her admirers. She is currently on a short break from work to focus on her health as she battles Myositis and undergoes treatment for the same.
Despite her health concerns, Samantha has exciting projects on the horizon. She is set to headline the Indian adaptation of the popular American series ‘Citadel,’ alongside Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan. Her performance in ‘The Family Man 2’ garnered praise, and fans are eagerly anticipating her action-packed avatar in ‘Citadel.’
During the Instagram session, Samantha expressed her enthusiasm for action roles and her desire to explore this genre further. She shared, “One thing I’m excited about is action. I don’t know why; I’ve never been a brutal person. But I love action. I just love it, and I think there’s quite a bit coming up in Citadel. It was absolutely – it was hard. It was hard, but it was fun, and I loved it, and I loved the challenge, and I can’t wait for you guys to see it. I hope you like it, but I think that action is it for me. It’s where I want to go; it’s what I want to explore, for sure.”
Apart from ‘Citadel,’ Samantha’s filmography includes the English romantic-comedy ‘Chennai Story,’ an adaptation of Timeri N. Murari’s novel ‘The Arrangements of Love,’ where she shares the screen with Vivek Kalra. Additionally, Samantha is set to make her mark in Hollywood with ‘Chennai Story,’ directed by Philip John.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s journey is a testament to her resilience and talent, and fans can look forward to her captivating performances and inspiring honesty as she continues to shine in the world of entertainment.
