Samantha Ruth Prabhu Takes Break from Acting to Focus on Health, Reportedly Undergoing Costly Treatment

Renowned actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has reportedly decided to take a break from her acting career to prioritize her health. Last year, the actress was diagnosed with Myositis, a medical condition that affects muscle inflammation. While managing her health alongside her work commitments, Samantha has been exploring various treatments to combat the illness. Earlier this year, she shared that she has opted for Hyperbaric therapy to aid in her recovery. However, a recent report has surfaced, claiming that the popular star is investing a staggering amount of Rs 1 crore for her ongoing treatment.

According to Siasat.com, Samantha is currently undergoing treatment in the United States. These therapy sessions are believed to cost her over Rs 1 crore. As of now, News18 has not been able to independently verify the authenticity of the report.

In line with recent news, Samantha is indeed taking a step back from her acting endeavours to concentrate on her well-being. A source close to the actress informed India Today, “She will take a year-long break from work and will not sign any new Telugu or Bollywood films. She plans to use this time to regain her health and seek additional treatment. Samantha has returned advance payments to producers she had previously taken.” Before embarking on her treatment journey, Samantha is completing her commitments for the films Kushi and Citadel India.

Sources close to the actress have revealed to Hindustan Times that Samantha will be embarking on her treatment journey in August, travelling to the United States for a minimum of one year. The nature of her autoimmune disease necessitates extensive treatment and therapy sessions. Apart from seeking medical care in the US, Samantha may also visit South Korea for specialized medical purposes.

Regarding her upcoming projects, Samantha will next be seen in the film Kushi, where she shares the screen with Vijay Deverakonda. This movie marks their second collaboration. The film is scheduled for release on September 1. Additionally, Samantha is part of Citadel India, the Indian adaptation of Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel series. Helmed by Raj & DK, known for their work on The Family Man, the series also features Varun Dhawan in a leading role.
