Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who will be seen in the upcoming Indian spin-off series “Citadel India” alongside Varun Dhawan, recently clarified that it is not a remake of the recently released show featuring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. The actress addressed a fan’s query on Instagram, clarifying that the Indian version has its storyline and is not a duplicate of the international series.
In the comment section of Samantha’s birthday celebration pictures, a fan asked if “Citadel India” is the same story as Priyanka’s “Citadel,” considering Priyanka’s show was dubbed in multiple Indian languages. Samantha responded, “It is not a REMAKE!!” Another user further explained that the main series, “Citadel,” has different spin-offs in various countries, and the Indian spin-off features Samantha and Varun as the lead pair. These spin-offs run parallel to the main series with minimal or no connection to it.
The Indian version of “Citadel” is helmed by Raj and DK, the acclaimed directors of “The Family Man.” While details about “Citadel India” are being kept under wraps, Priyanka Chopra recently expressed her excitement about the Indian instalment and mentioned that the storylines of the spin-offs are connected. She praised Raj and DK for their talent and expressed her eagerness to see their work in the Indian version.
Recently, Samantha and Varun visited London to attend the premiere of Priyanka Chopra’s “Citadel.” Pictures from the event went viral on social media, generating buzz among fans.
