Jr NTR, the star of RRR, returned to Hyderabad after attending the Oscars where he received a warm welcome from fans. At the airport, the actor was mobbed. His security managed to get him out of the situation. The reason for his attendance at the Academy Awards was the glorious win of the RRR song “Naatu Naatu,” which made history by becoming the first Indian song to win an Oscar for Best Original Song. The song’s composer, MM Keeravaani, and lyricist, Chandrabose, collected the award on stage. Jr NTR was accompanied by his RRR co-star Ram Charan, director SS Rajamouli, and Ram Charan’s wife Upasana.

At the Oscars, Deepika Padukone introduced the live performance of “Naatu Naatu” by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, which received a standing ovation from the crowd. The song defeated tough competition from other nominees such as “Applause” from Tell It Like A Woman, “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, “Lift me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and “This Is Life” from Everything Everywhere All At Once. “Naatu Naatu” is a catchy and electrifying song that plays during a crucial scene in RRR, a movie about the friendship between real-life Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The song’s anti-colonialist themes and Telugu lyrics, along with its infectious rhythm and dance moves, have made it a global sensation.
