The highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film Kantara has garnered immense excitement among fans since its announcement by director and actor Rishab Shetty. Now, an exciting update about the film has emerged, revealing that Kantara 2 is set to commence filming on August 27, 2023.
According to reports, Rishab Shetty‘s Kantara 2 will go on floors in the coming months, with the scheduled launch date being August 27, 2023. Vijay Kiragandur, the Founder of Hombale Films, mentioned that Rishab intends to begin shooting in August, as a portion of the film requires the ambience of the rainy season. The sequel’s budget is expected to surpass that of the first part, which was made on a modest budget but achieved massive success.
Kantara 2, as revealed by Rishab Shetty, is a prequel rather than a direct sequel to Kantara. The director stated, “What you have seen is Part 2, and Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are delving into more details. As research is still ongoing, it is too early to disclose further information about the film.”
