On the professional front, Rishab Shetty is currently focused on developing the script for his upcoming film, ‘Kantara 2.’ Earlier this year, in collaboration with production banner Hombale Films, the filmmaker confirmed that the scripting process for ‘Kantara 2’ had commenced. The film is said to be a prequel, delving deeper into the history of the ‘Kantara’ universe.

According to the latest update, ‘Kantara 2’ is scheduled to commence filming on August 27, 2023. Official announcements regarding the production schedule are expected soon. Producer Vijay Kiragandur revealed that Rishab plans to shoot certain portions of the film during the rainy season, adding a distinct atmosphere to the narrative.

Speaking about the film, Rishab Shetty shared, “What you have seen is Part 2, and Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for ‘Kantara.’ It is because the history of ‘Kantara’ has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.”
