Ranbir Kapoor Teases Possibility of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ Sequel in Recent Interaction

Ranbir Kapoor Teases Possibility of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ Sequel in Recent Interaction

Ranbir Kapoor, known for his candid statements, has dropped a major hint about a potential sequel to the hit film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.’ During an interaction with his fans, the actor expressed his thoughts on which of his films could have a sequel, and he pointed towards ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.’ The movie, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has been widely acclaimed and starred Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.

Ranbir shared that Ayan had a compelling story idea for a sequel to ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,’ but his focus has been on his ongoing project, ‘Brahmastra.’ However, Ranbir mentioned that he believes a sequel could be made in the future, possibly set 10 years ahead of the original film. He added that it would be interesting to explore the lives of the characters Bunny, Naina, Avi, and Aditi in the new storyline.

This is not the first time Ranbir Kapoor has discussed the possibility of a ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ sequel. In a previous interview with Bollywood Hungama in 2018, Ranbir mentioned that Ayan Mukerji had an idea for a sequel and that there might be a window of opportunity between the releases of ‘Brahmastra’ Part 1 and Part 2 to work on the sequel.

Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming projects include the film ‘Animal,’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of ‘Kabir Singh fame. ‘Animal’ is set to release on August 11, 2023, and will clash with Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar 2’ at the box office. Fans of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ will eagerly await any official confirmation about a potential sequel to the beloved film.
