Rana Daggubati to Debut as Hiranyakashyap in Comic-Based Film

Telugu superstar Rana Daggubati is currently making waves at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023, where he is not only supporting his dear friend and Baahubali co-star Prabhas for the much-anticipated sci-fi superhero film Project K but also unveiling exciting developments from his entertainment and media company, Spirit Media.

The focal point of Rana’s presence at the event is the forthcoming film Hiranyakashyap, based on the renowned Amara Chitra Katha comic. The film will narrate the story of the titular demon, Hiranyakashyap, who attempts to eradicate the faith of Lord Vishnu’s followers. Rana Daggubati will take on the formidable role of the comic-based demon, and his towering and robust physique makes him the perfect fit for the character. The screenplay for the movie will be penned by the talented Trivikram Srinivas, though the director and the remaining cast and crew are yet to be finalized and will be announced soon.

Furthermore, Spirit Media has exciting plans for the superhero Malayalam film Minnal Murali, as it will find its place in the popular children’s digest Tinkle as a comic. Rana’s collaboration with Weekend Blockbusters, the producers of Minnal Murali, has led to this exciting partnership, bringing the superhero to a broader audience through the beloved comic series.

Interestingly, director Gunasekhar had previously announced a film titled Hiranyakashyap and expressed his desire to cast Rana Daggubati for the titular role. However, the project faced hurdles and eventually stalled. Now, Rana’s announcement of Hiranyakashyap without Gunasekhar’s involvement has prompted a cryptic tweet from the director, leading fans to speculate about potential “treachery” by Rana Daggubati.

While the tweet does not explicitly mention the film or Rana, followers believe that Gunasekhar might be hinting at the situation. It is worth noting that the project was announced by the director before the release of his film Rudramadevi, which also featured Rana Daggubati and had garnered attention from Fox Studios before being put on hold.

As the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 unfolds, fans eagerly await more updates and revelations from Rana Daggubati and Spirit Media, excited to witness the unfolding of thrilling narratives in the world of cinema and comics. Stay tuned for further developments in this captivating journey!
