The Telugu film industry is buzzing with excitement as fans eagerly await the release of “Game Changer,” starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. However, a recent setback has temporarily halted the film’s shooting, as reports suggest that the RRR star has suffered a foot injury. Production is on hold until he makes a full recovery, and as a result, the film’s release has been postponed by a year.
Amid these updates, there are new rumours circulating regarding the film’s digital rights. Sources indicate that Zee5 has reportedly secured the digital rights for “Game Changer.”
If these reports hold true, it could signify a significant shift in the distribution strategy for this highly-anticipated film, potentially reaching a wider audience through digital platforms. Fans and industry enthusiasts are closely monitoring further developments surrounding this exciting project.
The streaming giant is said to have acquired the digital rights for “Game Changer” at a whopping price of Rs 270 crore.
Directed by Shankar, the film has faced multiple delays in its release and is now expected to hit theaters either in January or the summer of 2025. The shooting has been put on hold, and reports suggest that the entire cast is disappointed due to the delay.
Producer Dil Raju, in a conversation with Pinkvilla, revealed that they are eagerly awaiting director Shankar to complete the shooting process. Following that, the post-production phase will also require additional time. The producer expressed their aim to have a Pongal 2024 release.
According to the producer, 70 percent of the shooting has already been completed, including the songs and action sequences. However, there are still a few schedules left, spanning around 50 working days. Dil Raju believes that if the content is compelling, it will draw audiences back to theatres.
The primary reason cited for the delay is director Shankar’s simultaneous work on “Indian 2,” starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role.
Apart from Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, “Game Changer” also features Anjali, S. J. Suryah, and Jayaram in pivotal roles. The film’s music is scored by S Thaman, with cinematography by Tirru and R Rathnavelu handling the camera work.
