In the latest news, the makers of Rajinikanth’s 1995 blockbuster film Muthu have announced an exciting surprise for fans. The timeless classic, directed by KS Ravikumar, is all set to make a grand comeback and will grace the theatres once again in December this year. The official announcement on social media declared, “Muthu Re-Release This December 2023; Vandhutenu sollu. Na thirumbi vandhutenu sollu (Tell them I’m back). Muthu, an action-packed extravaganza, features a stellar ensemble cast, including Meena, Sarath Babu, Radha Ravi, Jayabharathi, and the ever-popular Vadivelu. The storyline revolves around the tale of a zamindar, portrayed by Sarath Babu, and his loyal worker, played by Rajinikanth, both vying for the affections of the same woman, leading to a series of gripping and dramatic events.

Produced under the esteemed banner of Kavithalayaa Productions by Rajam Balachander and Pushpa Kandasamy, Muthu boasts a soul-stirring musical score composed by the maestro AR Rahman, with cinematography by Ashok Rajan.

Tentatively titled Thalaivar 171, the movie promises an engaging narrative, complemented by the musical brilliance of Anirudh Ravichander and the adrenaline-pumping action sequences choreographed by the dynamic stunt duo, Anbariv.
