Veteran actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late on Monday, according to sources The 73-year-old is expected to undergo a planned medical procedure on Tuesday.

According to sources, Rajinikanth’s health condition remains stable. Neither Rajinikanth’s family nor the hospital has issued an official statement yet. However, as reported by HashtagU, hospital sources indicated that a heart-related procedure is scheduled for Today(01-10-2024).

Rajinikanth underwent hospitalization a few years back:

In 2020, Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad due to severe hypertension and exhaustion. He was discharged on December 27 after his blood pressure stabilized, and doctors advised him to take a week’s rest.

Rajinikanth had previously undergone a kidney transplant:

Rajinikanth had undergone a kidney transplant previously, and Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad had issued a statement regarding his health. They stated, “In view of his post-transplant status, labile hypertension, and age,” he was advised complete bed rest for one week with regular monitoring of his blood pressure. He was also counseled to avoid any activities that could increase the risk of contracting Covid-19.

Rajinikanth’s health updates include undergoing a Covid-19 test on December 22 of the same year, which returned negative results. Despite this, he isolated himself as a precaution. The actor had previously undergone a kidney transplant in 2016.

Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film “Vettaiyan,” directed by TJ Gnanavel, is scheduled to release in theaters on October 10. This marks Rajinikanth’s 170th film. Earlier, the production company unveiled the title teaser on Rajinikanth’s 73rd birthday. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film. Following “Vettaiyan,” Rajinikanth is set to appear in “Coolie,” slated for release in 2025.
