Prominent Bollywood producer Sandeep Singh has made the difficult decision to cancel the production of the film based on the life of Tipu Sultan, the 18th-century ruler of Mysore. This decision comes after the producer received multiple death threats, including one from a person on Facebook last year. In a statement shared on his social media, Sandeep expressed his concerns for the safety of himself and his loved ones, urging the audience to refrain from making such threats and apologizing for any unintentional hurt caused to religious sentiments.
The film on Tipu Sultan, which was to be produced and written by Sandeep Singh’s production house, Legend Studios, was expected to shed light on the life and achievements of the historical figure. However, due to the security risks posed by the death threats, the project has been shelved indefinitely.
The film on Hazrat Tipu Sultan will not be made.
I kindly request my fellow brothers and sister to refrain from threatening or abusing my family, friends and me. I sincerely apologize if I have unintentionally hurt anyone's religious sentiments. It was never my intention to do… pic.twitter.com/zQUuAsxSSK

Earlier this month, Sandeep received a death threat on Facebook from a person named Krishna Singh Rajput, who made a chilling reference to the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. Sandeep promptly filed a complaint with the Amboli police station, seeking legal action against the threat.
Reports indicate that this was not the first time the producer had received such threats. Last year, he received four death threats, with the recent one prompting him to take the decision of cancelling the film altogether.
Sandeep Singh is known for producing several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, including “Sarabjit,” “Bhoomi,” “PM Narendra Modi,” “Mary Kom,” “Aligarh,” and “Jhund.” His contributions to the Indian film industry have earned him a significant reputation, and the cancellation of the film Tipu Sultan is indeed a significant setback.
It is not the first instance of public figures facing threats and intimidation in the Indian entertainment industry. Previously, superstar Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan have also been targeted with similar threats by unknown individuals.
As Sandeep Singh takes a stand against these threats, the incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of individuals associated with the film industry. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure the safety of not just the producers and actors but also the integrity of artistic expression in India.
