In a recent appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show SiriusXM, Priyanka Chopra shared a dark phase of her life caused by a botched nose surgery at the beginning of her career. The Citadel actress revealed that she lost three acting jobs after the medical procedure went awry and left her face looking completely different. Chopra said that the incident led her into a deep depression, and she felt that her career was over before it had even started.
In her 2021 memoir titled Unfinished, Chopra shared that while shaving off a polyp, the doctor accidentally shaved the bridge of her nose, and the bridge collapsed. When the bandages were removed, Chopra and her mother were horrified to see her face looking completely different, and her original nose was gone. She said that her father, who was a doctor himself, convinced her to undergo corrective surgery.
Despite feeling terrified, Chopra’s father held her hands through the procedure and helped her build back her confidence. She also talked about Bollywood director Anil Sharma, who supported her career during that phase of her life. “I was supposed to play this lead, and I was shifted to a supporting character. That filmmaker was very kind,” she said.
Chopra’s experience with the botched surgery affected her confidence and career, but she has since gone on to become a successful actress and producer. She was recently seen in the global spy series Citadel alongside Richard Madden, which is now streaming on Prime Video.
The incident has shed light on the importance of seeking qualified medical professionals and the potential risks associated with cosmetic procedures. It is crucial to do thorough research and make informed decisions before undergoing any surgical or non-surgical cosmetic treatments.
