The much-anticipated release of Prabhas-starrer “Salaar” is finally locked for December 22 after facing several delays. The action-packed movie, directed by Prasanth Neel of KGF fame, promises an intense showdown with Shah Rukh Khan‘s “Dunki,” slated to hit the theatres a day prior, on December 21. As the buzz around these two blockbuster films intensifies, trade reports from The Times of India unveil interesting insights.

According to the latest figures, the initial box office collection trend for Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” shows a significant surge in ticket sales. The movie, which marks Hirani’s collaboration with SRK, has witnessed a remarkable increase in bookings, selling 5400 tickets across 320 locations and 915 shows. The current box office collection stands at $75,039, indicating a promising trajectory with 11 days left until its release.

In a parallel scenario, the Prabhas-led “Salaar” isn’t lagging either. As per trade analyst Girish Johar, the bookings for both films in Overseas markets exhibit intriguing competition:

Currently, “Dunki” has amassed a total of Rs 45,385,777 (Approx Rs 4.54 cr), while “Salaar” stands strong, ready to dominate over 300 screens in Kerala. The excitement among fans is palpable, with advance bookings already rolling out. Notably, a popular theatre in Kottayam is geared up for fan shows starting as early as 6 am on the release day.

On one hand, “Salaar” boasts Prabhas in the lead, supported by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan, while on the other, “Dunki” promises an ensemble cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan alongside Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover.
