Prabhas, the renowned actor known for his iconic role in the Baahubali series, has been facing a challenging phase in his career lately. After the massive success of Baahubali, the actor has experienced a series of setbacks with consecutive flops in his recent releases. Movies like Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and the disappointing Adipurush have failed to impress at the box office, leading to a dry spell for the actor.
However, Prabhas is not one to give up easily, and he has a few films in the pipeline that are expected to redeem him in the eyes of his fans. One such project is “Salaar,” directed by Prashanth Neel of “KGF” fame. Expectations for “Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire” are sky-high, with the film set to open in over 5000 theatres worldwide. The international distributor, Prathyangira Cinemas, announced that the movie will be showcased on record-breaking 1979+ screens in North America, a number chosen to coincide with Prabhas’s birth year, 1979. The distributor referred to the film as a “box office bulldozer.”

“Salaar” is slated to have its US premiere on September 27, followed by its release in India on September 28. The film will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil. The Indian film market has witnessed significant growth in the international arena after the global success of Baahubali and RRR, further boosting the anticipation for “Salaar.”
The recent teaser of the film received an enthusiastic response from fans, sparking rumours that “Salaar” might be set in the same universe as Yash Gupta’s “KGF,” although such claims remain uncertain.
Apart from “Salaar,” Prabhas has other exciting projects in the pipeline. His first look from “Project K” was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023, where the team of the Nag Ashwin project is currently promoting the film. “Project K” is reportedly a science fiction superhero action movie, adding to the anticipation surrounding Prabhas’s upcoming releases.
With hopes riding high on “Salaar” and other promising projects like “Project K,” “Spirit,” and “Raja Deluxe,” fans are eagerly waiting to see Prabhas shine once again on the big screen and reclaim his position as a formidable force in Indian cinema.
