The highly-anticipated film “Kalki 2898 AD Part 1,” starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, has been making waves in the entertainment industry since its announcement. However, recent reports suggest that the film’s release might face a possible postponement.
Originally known as “Project K,” the movie was officially launched at the San Diego Comic-Con last week, with its release date set for January 2024. However, according to a report by India Today, the filmmakers are considering pushing the release to May 9, 2024.
The reason cited for the potential delay is believed to be auspicious for the film’s producer, Ashwini Dutt. May 9 has been a lucky date for the filmmaker in the past, as his previous films “Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari” and “Mahanati” were released on this date and emerged as massive blockbusters. Given this fortunate history, Ashwini Dutt might opt to release “Kalki 2898 AD Part 1” on May 9.
As of now, the makers of the film are yet to respond to these reports, leaving fans eagerly awaiting an official announcement.
During the San Diego Comic-Con event, the filmmakers revealed the film’s official title, “Kalki 2898 AD,” and released a captivating teaser. The teaser featured Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Prabhas in a futuristic setting, portraying them as warriors amidst a war-like scenario. The glimpse of Prabhas in a formidable warrior avatar garnered immense excitement among fans, hinting at an epic battle against oppression.
The event was attended by Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Rana Daggubati. Unfortunately, Deepika Padukone, a member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (SAG-AFTRA), and Amitabh Bachchan had to skip the event due to the ongoing strike by the union in the US and health reasons, respectively.
“Project K” created history as the first-ever Indian film to debut at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con in 2023.
As the buzz around “Kalki 2898 AD Part 1” continues to build, fans are eagerly looking forward to more updates from the filmmakers regarding the film’s release and further details.
