Pooja Hegde Bows Out of Mahesh Babu’s “Guntur Kaaram”; Samyuktha Considered as Potential Replacement

Mumbai, May 22, 2023 – In a surprising turn of events, actress Pooja Hegde has reportedly stepped back from her role as the female lead in the highly anticipated film “Guntur Kaaram” starring Mahesh Babu and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Pooja’s decision is attributed to changes in the shoot schedules, script modifications, and other factors. It is speculated that actress Samyuktha is being considered as a potential replacement for the role.

Reports suggest that Samyuktha, known for her performances in films like “SIR” and “Virupaksha,” is currently in talks to take on the female lead in “Guntur Kaaram.” If the rumours hold, it would mark the first collaboration between Samyuktha and Mahesh Babu. However, an official announcement regarding the casting change is yet to be made.

An undisclosed source close to the production shed light on the circumstances surrounding Pooja Hegde’s departure from the project, stating, “The shooting timelines of Guntur Kaaram kept on changing. The team was shooting for some sequences, deciding on a timeframe for the next schedule, but that’s delayed again due to varied issues. Some of the portions already shot were getting into the reshoot mode. There were also changes in the script at regular intervals, which resulted in multiple other people also backing out. After several contemplations on what to do, Pooja Hegde has decided to part ways citing date issues.”

In addition to Pooja Hegde’s exit, rumours are circulating about the replacement of music composer S Thaman in the film. Speculation suggests that Anirudh Ravichander has stepped in to take over as the music director, reportedly due to creative differences between Mahesh Babu and the team. However, the veracity of these rumours remains unconfirmed, as some sources claim that S Thaman is still involved in the project and actively composing songs.

“Guntur Kaaram” marks the reunion of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas after a decade, following their previous collaborations on the blockbuster films “Athadu” and “Khaleja.” The film’s first look, featuring Mahesh Babu in a mass and action-packed avatar, was unveiled last month, further fueling anticipation among fans. Actress Sreeleela is set to play a pivotal role in the film.

The shooting for “Guntur Kaaram” is set to resume on June 25, after a significant delay caused by various factors. The film is scheduled to hit the screens during the auspicious occasion of Sankranthi in 2024.
