Nora Fatehi, the sensational dancing sensation who has carved her niche in Bollywood, recently shared insights into the challenges she has faced in the industry and shed light on the competition that prevails. Her journey from Toronto to Bollywood, Nora’s rise has been nothing short of remarkable. While she continues to captivate audiences with her dance moves, the actress is gearing up to explore the realm of acting in a variety of genres.

Navigating Filmmakers’ Hesitations

In an exclusive interaction with News 18, Nora Fatehi candidly discussed the hurdles she has encountered in her journey. Addressing the hesitations of filmmakers, she pointed out that it wasn’t merely her dancing skills that were the issue, but rather a hesitance to take a chance on her diverse talents. “I don’t think because I dance is why they don’t want to cast me. Our main iconic heroines in Bollywood have been dancers who perform beautifully. And they excel in dance numbers, right? That was just a part of the package of being like an iconic heroine,” Nora shared.

She elaborated, revealing that the industry seemed to be waiting for someone to take the initiative and cast her in a role where she could showcase her acting skills, presence, aura, and language proficiency. “I think it was who would have got the b**** to do it first, to take a chance on me first. I think that was what everyone was waiting for,” she expressed.

Industry Competition and Casting Trends

Nora Fatehi also shed light on the competitive nature of the Bollywood industry and the casting dynamics. She pointed out that there is a limited number of films being made each year, and this has led to a concentrated focus on a select few actresses. “Today the industry has become very competitive. Let’s be realistic. There are only a few films a year. And sometimes what happens with filmmakers is they don’t think outside of what’s in front of them,” Nora stated.

The actress emphasized that the industry tends to cast only a handful of actresses who are consistently working in a rotation. She added, “So your job is to try to intercept the four and become five and get into rotation and then that’s just how the ball rolls. And yeah, I mean, it’s hard work, but it’s happening. And I’m very grateful for that. I just have to prove myself, so I can stick around. That’s the next challenge.”

Upcoming Projects and Excitement

Despite the challenges, Nora Fatehi remains enthusiastic about her upcoming projects. She shared that she has been shooting for multiple films this year, and many of them are set to release next year. “I’m particularly excited about one or two projects right now. And I’m really lucky. You know I’ve been waiting for so long to be cast as a lead in a film,” she expressed.

Nora highlighted the diverse genres of her upcoming films, including a comedy with Excel films, a family drama, and an extreme action sports film. She also mentioned her participation in two Telugu films as one of the leads. Through her hard work and determination, Nora Fatehi is determined to prove herself as a versatile talent and continue to shine in the dynamic world of Bollywood.
