Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, the renowned couple in the South Indian film industry, have been making headlines with reports suggesting that they have purchased an old theatre in Chennai as part of their business expansion plans. According to the rumours, the couple has acquired the Agasthiya Theatre, which had been closed since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether these reports are true or mere speculation.

The Agasthiya Theatre, previously owned by the Devi Theatre group, has been a prominent fixture in Chennai since its establishment in 1967. The news of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan allegedly acquiring the theatre has sparked curiosity among fans and industry insiders, as it signifies a potential venture into the theatre business for the couple. The rumoured plan involves renovating the theatre to revive its operations.

Responding to the ongoing speculations, a spokesperson for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan clarified that there is no truth to the news at present. However, they did not dismiss the possibility of the couple exploring the idea of investing in the theatre business. Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan tied the knot on June 9, 2022, and were blessed with twin boys through surrogacy four months later. The couple named their sons Uyir Rudronil N Shivan and Ulag Dhaivag N Shivan, with the ‘N’ representing Nayanthara in their names.

On the professional front, Nayanthara’s upcoming project is the highly anticipated action thriller “Jawan,” where she stars alongside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Atlee Kumar, the film marks Nayanthara’s debut in Hindi cinema. However, the release date for “Jawan” has reportedly been postponed due to the need for additional time to complete the visual effects. The team aims to deliver a high-quality product that can compete with the best in the country. Additionally, Nayanthara has commenced shooting for her next project, tentatively titled “Lady Superstar 75,” directed by Nilesh Krishnaa.
