Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2: Kamal Haasan’s Voiceover in Intro Scene Leaves Fans Excited for Sequel

As the release of Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated sequel, Ponniyin Selvan 2, draws near, the makers are leaving no stone unturned in promoting the film. Recently, the makers unveiled an intro scene of the movie, featuring Kamal Haasan’s voiceover, which is sure to leave fans excited for the sequel.

The video, shared on Twitter by the makers, is a recap of what happened in Ponniyin Selvan 1 and what audiences can expect from the second instalment. Kamal Haasan narrates the recap, taking viewers through the attacks on the Thanjavur kingdom, Nandini’s conspiracies, and Arunmozhi Varman’s death.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 will continue to focus on Arulmozhi Varman’s journey to becoming Rajaraja Chola I, the greatest ruler of the Chola empire. The sequel is also expected to delve into the flashback story of Vikram, aka Aditya Karikalan, and the relationship between Ponniyin Selvan and Oomai Rani, played by Aishwarya Rai.

The star-studded cast of Ponniyin Selvan 1 will return for the sequel, including Karthi as Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyathevan, Chiyaan Vikram as crown prince Aditya Karikalan, Jayam Ravi as Arumozhi Varma, Trisha Krishnan as princess Kundavai Devi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a double role as antagonist Nandini and Oomai Rani.

The team of Ponniyin Selvan 2 recently visited Kerala for the film’s promotion, and will soon be heading to Hyderabad for further promotion. The highly anticipated film is set to release worldwide on April 28, and fans are eagerly waiting to witness the epic saga unfold on the big screen.
