In a tragic turn of events, renowned Malayalam filmmaker and production executive Baiju Paravoor passed away at the age of 42. The filmmaker had been undergoing treatment for discomfort and high fever before succumbing to his illness. Baiju’s family has revealed that his untimely demise was the result of food poisoning. The news of his sudden death has left the Malayalam film industry and his fans in a state of shock.

According to reports, Baiju Paravoor had visited Kozhikode for a film discussion and had a meal at a hotel on Saturday while returning home by car. However, shortly after leaving the hotel, he began experiencing discomfort and decided to go to his wife’s home in Kunnamkulam. The discomfort escalated, prompting him to seek medical attention at a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, his condition did not improve, and he returned to his hometown of Paravoor on Sunday.

Despite seeking further treatment at a hospital in Kuzhuppilly, Baiju’s health deteriorated rapidly. He was subsequently transferred to a hospital in Kochi, where he passed away in the early hours of Monday. The filmmaker is survived by his wife Chithra and their children Aradhya and Arav. Baiju Paravoor’s final rites were conducted on Monday evening, marking the end of a life dedicated to the Malayalam film industry.

With a career spanning two decades, Baiju Paravoor had also served as a production executive and controller for numerous films. His contributions to the industry included working on 45 films, including notable productions like “Dhaniyam” and “Kaitholachathan.” He was eagerly preparing for the release of his debut directorial venture, “Secret,” which he had written and directed himself. The film is slated to be released next month, adding to the poignancy of his untimely demise.

In another unfortunate loss for the Malayalam film industry, CV Dev, a well-known personality in both theatre and movies, also passed away on Monday. The 83-year-old actor had been undergoing treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College for a few days. CV Dev’s contributions to films such as “Sadayam,” “Pattabhishekam,” “Manasinakare,” “Katha Varam,” “Mizhi Twondum,” and “Nerukku Kraj” will be remembered by audiences and fellow artists alike.

The sudden demise of Baiju Paravoor and CV Dev has cast a pall of grief over the Malayalam film fraternity. Their significant contributions to the industry and their respective fields will be cherished and remembered fondly. As fans and well-wishers mourn their loss, they leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and resonate within the hearts of cinephiles.
