Malayalam Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran Sustains Leg Injury in Accident on Set of ‘Vilayath Buddha’

Popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran met with an accident while filming an intense fight sequence for his upcoming movie 'Vilayath Buddha.'

Cochin, India Popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran met with an accident while filming an intense fight sequence for his upcoming movie ‘Vilayath Buddha.’ The actor suffered a leg injury and is scheduled to undergo surgery today. As per medical advice, Prithviraj will be taking a break from work for a few weeks to allow for proper recovery.

The unfortunate incident occurred during the shoot of ‘Vilayath Buddha’ in Marayoor, Cochin. Prithviraj was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital for prompt medical attention. Today, he will undergo a key holder surgery, following the recommendations of his doctors. While an official statement regarding the duration of his break from work has not been released, it is expected that Prithviraj may require approximately 2 to 3 months to fully recover from his injury.

‘Vilayath Buddha’ is directed by Jayan Nambiar, who previously worked as an assistant to the late director Sachy on the film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum.’ The movie is an adaptation of GR Indugopan’s novel of the same name.

Despite the setback, Prithviraj Sukumaran has an exciting lineup of projects in his pipeline. One of his most ambitious films to date, ‘Aadujeevitham,’ is set for release. The visually stunning trailer of the survival drama, based on Benyamin’s best-selling novel, garnered immense praise from netizens, despite online leaks. Directed by Blessy, ‘Aadujeevitham’ showcases Prithviraj’s versatility as an actor.

Additionally, the talented actor-director is busy with his upcoming Bollywood project, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ in Mumbai. In the film, he portrays the lead antagonist Kabir, alongside Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the titular roles. Prithviraj is also gearing up for his highly anticipated project, ‘L2: Empuraan,’ which serves as a sequel to his directorial debut, ‘Lucifer,’ starring Mohanlal.
