Malayalam star Dileep is one of the biggest stars within the industry, but the actor had to endure several allegations including sexual harassment. While the case has been put on hold, after a few more charges of assault were added in 2021, Dileep opened up about how these accusations have impacted his career.

The actor’s last theatrical release was in 2019, and now he is all set to return to the big screen with Voice of Satyanathan. Dileep was last seen as the protagonist in Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan which released on OTT in 2021.

In a recent event, Dileep opened up about how he has been targeted and attacked constantly due to the 2017 allegations and said, “It has been a while since my film released in theatres. You are aware of all the details”. He later added, “I am probably the most targeted actor in India, and my films have also faced attacks. Reviews have been published even before a film’s release. However, I hope that those who love me will watch this film in theatres. You are my strength.”

In the same event, Dileep also expressed his excitement about the release of Voice of Satyanathan and further spoke about reuniting with filmmaker Raffi with whom he has worked in films like Ring Master (2014) and Chinatown (2011). “The films of Raffi-Mecartin played a significant role in my popularity. Later, I worked on films like Ring Master and Chinatown with Raffi Bhai. This film is not just a comedy; it also contains highly emotional moments,” Dileep stated.

Besides Dileep, Voice of Satyanathan also stars Joju George, Jude Anthany Joseph, Anupam Kher, Jagapathi Babu, Makrand Deshpande, Veena Nandakumar, among others and it is slated for release on July 14.
