Rajinikanth’s Jailer has become a huge success since its release. It marks the comeback of Rajinikanth with Nelson Dilipkumar as director. Amidst positive responses, one scene where a contract killer wearing a Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey has been making headlines. Now, the makers of Jailer finally agreed to change the scene by September 1.
Recently, a suit was filed by Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited which owns RCB while Prathiba M Singh was defending the suit. Sun Pictures was being represented by Deepak Biswas, Harsh Buch and Srishti Gupta. The counsel appearing for both sites informed the Court that the issue had been resolved and that they had agreed to alter the scene.
As per a report in Bar and Bench, the court ordered, “The Defendants as also all parties acting for or on their behalf including their distribution network shall be bound by the above terms and conditions. With effect from 1st September, 2023, in the theatrical depiction of the film Jailer the RCB team jersey shall stand edited/altered. The Defendants shall ensure that after 1st September, 2023, none of the theatres would exhibit the RCB jersey in any form whatsoever. In so far as television, satellite or any OTT platform is concerned, prior to the release thereof, the altered version of the film shall be broadcasted/telecasted.”
Rajinikanth’s Jailer has become the second highest-grossing Indian film of this year. Lawyers for both sides informed the court that they agreed to settle the matter and would digitally alter the scene. Sun Pictures has assured the court that it will make the said changes in the theatrical version by September 1.
