Superstar Mahesh Babu took to Twitter to unveil the first poster of his upcoming film, tentatively titled SSMB28, on the occasion of his late father Krishna’s birthday. Paying tribute to his father, Mahesh Babu dedicated the poster to him and showcased his mass avatar in the film.
The poster features Mahesh Babu in a powerful and intense look, preparing for a fight. The actor expressed his emotions by writing, “Today is all the more special! This one’s for you Nanna,” along with the poster. The film’s title and first-look teaser will also be revealed on this auspicious day. May 31 holds a special significance as it marks the first birth anniversary of the legendary Superstar Krishna.
SSMB28 brings together Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram Srinivas after a hiatus of 12 years. The duo has previously delivered blockbuster hits such as ‘Athadu’ and ‘Khaleja’. Pooja Hegde joins the project as the leading lady, while S Thaman takes charge of the music composition. The film is scheduled for release on January 13, 2024, coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi.

The actor’s blockbuster film, ‘Mosagallaku Mosagadu’, has been re-released in theatres in 4K format, offering fans the opportunity to revisit the classic. Mahesh Babu expressed his heartfelt emotions in a note to fans, highlighting his father’s contributions to Telugu cinema and the technical advancements brought by ‘Mosagallaku Mosagadu’.
The note read, “In those days, my father made Telugu movies that were on par with Hollywood films. Just two years ago, the film ‘Cowboy Geta’ showcased magnificent horseback rides, gun fights, and thrills. This year, on May 31st, we are reintroducing ‘Mosagallaku Mosagadu’ with the latest technology, enhancing the cinematic experience for Telugu audiences. It was the first Telugu film with elements of English and Hindi, and it brought new technical values to Telugu cinema.”
