In a much-anticipated reveal, the team behind the sequel to the blockbuster Malayalam film Lucifer has dropped the first-look poster for “Empuraan.” Prithviraj Sukumaran, the multifaceted talent, not only directed the film but is also set to reprise his role as Zayed Masood.

Lucifer, released in 2019, left fans on the edge with the promise of a sequel. The film starred the legendary Mohanlal as politician Stephen Nedumpally, with a surprise revelation in the mid-credits scene that hinted at a darker side – Khureshi Ab’raam, the head of a global crime syndicate.

The newly revealed poster gives fans a glimpse into the intense world of Empuraan. Set in what appears to be a war zone, Mohanlal’s character is seen holding a machine gun, surrounded by the aftermath of chaos. A fighter chopper descends into the scene, adding to the anticipation of what unfolds in the sequel.

Empuraan is not just a sequel; it’s a cinematic exploration, serving as both a prequel and a sequel to its predecessor. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who made an impressive directorial debut with Lucifer, is set to take the audience on another thrilling ride.

The screenplay, crafted by actor-director Murali Gopy and the talented Manju Warrier, promises a gripping narrative that delves deeper into the origins and machinations of Khureshi Ab’raam. The ensemble cast, including Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, and more, is gearing up to reprise their roles, ensuring a seamless continuation of the Lucifer saga.

As the first schedule wraps up, the film’s production is in full swing, with the second schedule set to commence in January. Deepak Dev’s musical compositions and Sujith Vasudevg’s cinematography add to the excitement surrounding this action-packed thriller.

Fans who have eagerly waited for four years since the announcement of the sequel can now rejoice as Empuraan promises a cinematic experience that transcends the boundaries of conventional storytelling. Stay tuned for more updates as the Lucifer saga unfolds with Empuraan.
