Karthi, known for his versatility, returned to his forte of comedic roles in “Japan,” showcasing his impeccable comedic timing and adding depth to the character of Japan Muni, a notorious thief with a penchant for documenting his heists as movies. The plot revolves around Japan Muni, played by Karthi, who finds himself entangled in a web of suspicion when a substantial amount of jewellery is stolen. This sets the stage for a captivating cat-and-mouse chase between the thief and government officials, blurring the lines between truth and deceit.
Upon its theatrical release, “Japan” garnered mixed to positive reviews from both critics and fans. While applauding performances by Karthi, Sunil, and Vijay Milton, audiences lauded GV Prakash Kumar’s musical compositions.
