The Kannada film industry has recently witnessed a surge in captivating content and remarkable performances, with several films leaving a lasting impact on audiences. Among these, “Kantara,” directed by Rishab Shetty, emerged as one of the most successful films of 2022. The film garnered widespread acclaim following its nationwide release, captivating audiences across the country with its compelling narrative. Now, the film is all set to air on the newly launched Kannada channel, Star Suvarna Plus.

Reports suggest that this marks the first time the hit Kannada film will be featured on the channel since its inception. Scheduled to air at 6 PM on October 28, “Kantara” is known for its portrayal of Karnataka’s local culture and its profound respect for traditional village customs.

Previously, the Rishab Shetty-starrer had made its television premiere on Star Suvarna, further solidifying its popularity among viewers. The upcoming airing on Star Suvarna Plus promises to extend this cinematic experience to a broader audience, offering a platform for the viewers to engage with other hit films showcased on the channel.

Earlier this year, the Kannada general entertainment channel Suvarna underwent a rebranding process, becoming Star Suvarna, while its movie channel Suvarna Plus was rebranded as Star Suvarna Plus. The nine-year-old Suvarna’s rebranding aimed to reflect Karnataka’s distinctive culture and traditions through unique and differentiated content offerings. The owners of the new network have strategically planned a comprehensive marketing campaign to establish the new brand logo and identity.

In addition to showcasing the highly anticipated airing of “Kantara,” Star Suvarna Plus is set to provide viewers with a diverse blend of movie entertainment and sports programming. The channel’s lineup will feature not only some of the most popular Kannada films but also national-level sporting events, including the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League, presented in the Kannada language.
