‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Emerges as the First Blockbuster of 2024, Grosses Rs 625 Crore Globally

While the film's night show attendance has slightly declined across Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada regions, it remains strong.

The futuristic dystopian saga, “Kalki 2898 AD,” will become a global box office success in 2024. The film features a talented cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, and has earned a remarkable Rs 625 crore worldwide as of Monday.

According to film trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the movie has crossed the Rs 600 crore mark globally, with Rs 343.6 crore coming from India. The Telugu-speaking regions contributed significantly, with Rs 182 crore. In the Hindi circuit, the film secured Rs 128 crore, making it the second-largest market, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.

While the film’s night show attendance has slightly declined across Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada regions, it remains strong. Telugu territories recorded 55.43% attendance for 3D night shows on Day 5, while Tamil circuits saw 28.14%, and Hindi territories stood at 47.28%.

“Kalki 2898 AD” has rejuvenated the box office, bringing in substantial collections after a quiet period of six months. With high expectations, the film is expected to continue its successful run towards the Rs 800 crore milestone, solidifying its status as a monumental success story in Indian cinema for 2024.
