The lead actor of “Kannappa,” Vishnu Manchu, shared the exciting news of Akshay Kumar’s involvement on his official page. He posted pictures of Kumar meeting him and his father, the legendary Telugu star Mohan Babu, in Hyderabad where the film is currently being shot. Manchu expressed his excitement about shooting the climax of the film with the acclaimed actor, stating that Kumar’s addition to the cast was a significant honour.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar, “Kannappa” draws inspiration from Telugu folklore and tells the story of Kannappa, an atheist who becomes an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. While Akshay Kumar’s role as Lord Shiva has been disclosed, Aggarwal’s character remains undisclosed.
The star-studded cast also includes Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Nayanthara, Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi. Produced by Vishnu Manchu’s AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the film boasts contributions from Hollywood cinematographer Sheldon Chau, action director Kecha Khamphakdee, and dance maestro Prabhu Deva.
