Renowned actress Jyothika, a stalwart of South Indian cinema from the 90s, recently found herself in the spotlight due to rumours surrounding her move to Mumbai. These speculations prompted the actress to break her silence and clarify the situation in a recent interview with a Tamil media outlet.
Contrary to circulating rumours about familial conflicts, Jyothika provided insight into her decision. She explained that her move to Mumbai is motivated by her concern for her parents’ health, particularly during the pandemic. Restrictions and responsibilities hindered her ability to be with her parents, leading to her decision to temporarily relocate.
Highlighting the challenges faced by married women in balancing familial responsibilities, Jyothika expressed the difficulty in prioritizing care for her parents after moving to Chennai at a young age. Her temporary move aims to address this concern and spend quality time with her parents, especially as her children attend school in Mumbai.
Emphasizing that the move is temporary, Jyothika clarified that the decision isn’t permanent and refuted any other speculated reasons for the relocation.
Jyothika boasts an illustrious career in South Indian cinema, collaborating with iconic actors and featuring in successful films like “Kushi,” “Chandramukhi,” “Tagore,” and “36 Vayadhinile.” Her accolades include prestigious awards like the National Film Award, Filmfare Awards South, Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, and the Kalaimamani Award.
Married to actor Suriya since September 11, 2006, Jyothika’s clarification aimed to dispel any misconceptions surrounding her temporary relocation to Mumbai and prioritize familial care amid her thriving career and family commitments.
