Telugu actor Jr NTR has extended a helping hand to those affected by the devastating floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He announced a significant contribution of Rs 50 lakhs to each of the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of both states, aiming to support the ongoing relief efforts. The floods, triggered by heavy rains, have caused immense damage, displacing numerous families and destroying homes across the regions.

In addition to Jr NTR’s generous gesture, the producers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ have also joined hands by donating Rs 25 lakhs to the relief fund. Jr NTR shared the news of his donation on X, expressing his heartfelt concern for the affected people. In a tweet translated into English, he said, “I am deeply saddened by the recent floods in the Telugu states due to heavy rains. My prayers are with the Telugu people to overcome this calamity soon. I am contributing 50 lakhs each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments to support their relief efforts in this flood disaster.”

The ongoing heavy downpours, compounded by flooding spurred by a low-pressure system, have caused widespread devastation. Reports indicate the closure of numerous roads, isolating several communities and leaving thousands stranded. Additionally, the impact on transportation is significant, with approximately 140 train cancellations and diversions exacerbating the region’s challenges during this critical period.
