John Abraham Reveals First Poster and Release Date for Upcoming Thriller ‘The Diplomat’

After delivering a string of box office disappointments with films like Satyameva Jayate 2 and Ek Villain Returns, John Abraham redeemed himself with a captivating performance as the antagonist, Jim, in this year’s blockbuster Pathaan. While the film primarily revolved around Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited comeback, John’s portrayal garnered high praise from critics and audiences alike. With Pathaan boosting his market value once again, all eyes are now on his upcoming movie, The Diplomat.

The Diplomat is touted as a high-octane thriller, with John essaying the role of a high-ranking government official. Based on true events, the actor recently unveiled the first poster of the film along with its release date. The Diplomat is set to hit theatres on January 11 next year. In an accompanying caption, John wrote, “Some wars are fought even outside the battlefield.”

However, the makers of The Diplomat have taken a risk by scheduling its release on the same day as Prabhas’ highly anticipated sci-fi action thriller, Project K. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Project K is also slated for a January 11 release, setting the stage for a box office clash. While both films hold considerable promise, it will be interesting to see how The Diplomat fares against the buzz surrounding Project K.
