The Rajinikanth phenomenon knows no bounds, transcending geographical boundaries to reach fervent admirers even in Japan. As the highly anticipated movie “Jailer” hits screens, the fan fervour has reached a crescendo, with enthusiasts from Japan making a remarkable journey to Chennai, India, to experience the cinematic magic of the iconic Tamil superstar.
Yasuda Hidetoshi, the leader of the Rajinikanth fan club in Japan, embodied this dedication as he and his wife embarked on a journey to Chennai to partake in the Rajini fever that swept the city. Sporting Rajinikanth-themed attire, the couple donned matching T-shirts adorned with images of Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia from the movie “Kaavaalaa.” Yasuda, in an interview with PTI, shared his enduring admiration for the superstar, recounting his fandom spanning nearly two decades, starting with Rajinikanth’s films such as “Muthu” (1995) and “Baashha” (1995). His passion was evident as he enthusiastically recited dialogues from “Jailer” and other Rajinikanth classics.

This isn’t Yasuda’s maiden voyage to Chennai for a Rajinikanth film; he had previously journeyed to the city to watch “Darbar” and “Kabali.”
Meanwhile, fans in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kerala are celebrating Rajinikanth’s triumphant return to the silver screen in a grand manner. In Chennai, a dedicated fan was seen emulating Rajinikanth’s style by sporting a pair of glasses reminiscent of those worn by the superstar in “Jailer.” The fan also replicated Rajinikanth’s hairstyle from the movie, coupled with a salt-and-pepper beard, capturing the essence of the star’s iconic appearance.
With the release of “Jailer,” fans have pulled out all the stops to mark this momentous occasion. Massive garlands adorned the movie’s posters, and a portable stage was set up to welcome Rajinikanth to the big screen. A video even showcased fans performing a traditional Abhishekam ritual using milk packets.
The anticipation surrounding “Jailer” has manifested in a whirlwind of fan celebrations, reaffirming the profound impact Rajinikanth has on his devoted admirers. As the Japanese fan club leader Yasuda Hidetoshi becomes a symbol of global fandom, the superstar’s aura continues to illuminate screens and hearts around the world.
