Indian singer-rapper Honey Singh, renowned for his rap music and chartbuster Bollywood tracks, has recently revealed that he has received a death threat from a Canada-based gangster named Goldie Brar. The singer expressed his fear and concern for the safety of himself and his family. Honey Singh has now requested police protection and is urging for a thorough investigation into the matter. This incident highlights the unfortunate reality that celebrities often become targets of criminals, leading to the need for enhanced security measures.
In an interaction with India TV, Honey Singh shared, “I’ve received a death threat. Both my staff and I have received calls claiming to be from Goldie Brar. I have requested the Commissioner of Police to provide me with security and investigate this matter. I am genuinely scared.” He further added, “I have been advised not to divulge too many details as the matter is under investigation. I have provided the authorities with evidence. This is the first time such a thing has happened to me in my life. People have always showered me with love. Receiving a threat like this is a new experience for me. My entire family is frightened. After all, who isn’t scared of death? I have sought security and protection. The calls have been made from international numbers, and some are in the form of voice notes.”
It is worth noting that in April 2023, the Mumbai police received a complaint against Honey Singh and his manager alleging kidnapping and assault. The complaint was filed by the owner of an event management company. In response, Honey Singh took to Instagram to deny the allegations. He wrote, “The complaint and the allegations are false and baseless. There is no connection or agreement between my company and the complainant, as portrayed by the media. I was engaged for the Mumbai to show through a reputable company named Tribevibe, which is a sister concern of Bookmyshow. I performed for the duration permitted.”
Incidents like these raise concerns about the safety and security of celebrities, who often face threats and risks due to their public visibility. The recent instance of actor Salman Khan being provided Y+ security after threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi further emphasizes the need for heightened vigilance and protection for public figures.
As the investigation unfolds into the death threat against Honey Singh, it is hoped that law enforcement agencies will swiftly address the issue and ensure the safety and well-being of the singer and his family. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by celebrities and the importance of providing them with adequate security measures.
