Genelia Deshmukh Clarifies, Film Hiatus Was Her Own Decision, Not Influenced by Husband Riteish Deshmukh

Actress Genelia Deshmukh has put to rest the speculations surrounding her temporary break from films, asserting that it was entirely her own decision and had no involvement from her actor-husband, Riteish Deshmukh. Responding to questions about whether Riteish played a role in her hiatus from acting, Genelia clarified that it was solely her choice to take a step back from the silver screen. The talented actress recently appeared alongside Riteish in the Marathi hit film “Ved.”

Genelia and Riteish’s love story began on the sets of their debut film “Tujhe Meri Kasam,” and they were in a relationship for some time before tying the knot in February 2012. The couple is blessed with two adorable sons. Riaan Deshmukh was born two years after their marriage, followed by their second baby, Rahul Deshmukh, in 2016.

In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Genelia addressed the rumours and shared her perspective on the decision to take a break from her film career. She expressed that despite people’s speculations, it was entirely her own choice, and she cherishes the precious moments spent with her kids. The actress asserted that she enjoys being present in her children’s lives and values the time spent with them.

Genelia emphasized that she no longer seeks external validation and focuses on selecting projects that genuinely resonate with her. Her acting choices are guided by the stories that captivate her heart and leave a lasting impact on her. The actress feels content with her approach to work, prioritizing her family and personal growth.

When asked if her sons make unusual demands, Genelia quickly dismissed the notion, stating that her children’s requests are not outlandish but rather reflect their innocence and curiosity.

Presently, Genelia Deshmukh is gearing up for the release of Aleya Sen’s film “Trial Period.” In the movie, she portrays the role of a single mother whose son seeks a “trial father” for a month. Manav Kaul plays the candidate for this unique fatherly role. The film also features stellar performances by Shakti Kapoor, Gajraj Rao, Sheeba Chadda, and Zidane Braz. “Trial Period” is set to premiere on Jio Cinema on July 21, offering audiences an opportunity to witness Genelia’s exceptional acting prowess once again.
