Flood Crisis Delays Shooting of Janhvi Kapoor’s Patriotic Thriller “Ulajh” in Delhi

In a setback to the shooting schedule of Janhvi Kapoor‘s upcoming patriotic thriller “Ulajh,” the production team has been forced to postpone the Delhi shoot due to the ongoing flood crisis caused by a significant rise in the water level of the Yamuna River. The safety of the cast and crew remains the top priority, leading to the decision to reschedule the shoot.

“Ulajh” revolves around the story of a young IFS officer entangled in a personal conspiracy, and the team had planned an extensive shooting schedule in Delhi. The initial plan was to commence the shoot on July 10 and cover various iconic locations across the national capital, including Old Delhi, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and the Lajpat Nagar market area. The team also aimed to capture the essence of South Delhi in the film.

However, with the alarming rise in the water levels of the Yamuna River and the resulting flood crisis, the production team had no choice but to alter their plans. The shoot, originally intended to last for about 15 days, will now be rescheduled for mid-August to ensure a safer filming environment once the flood situation improves.

Although the team has not yet decided on an alternative shooting location, they remain committed to capturing the essence of Delhi in the film and plan to cover the intended locations once the conditions are favourable. This delay, while unfortunate, underscores the production team’s dedication to the safety and well-being of the entire cast and crew.

Amidst this disruption, actors Karan Wahi and Maanvi Gagroo have emerged fortunate, having managed to complete their shoot for an upcoming web series before the torrential rains hit the city. Their timely completion spared them from potential disruptions in the middle of filming. The production team has expressed relief that the actors finished their schedule without any hindrances.

In other news, Janhvi Kapoor has recently wrapped up shooting for the film “Bawaal,” where she stars alongside Varun Dhawan. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film was initially scheduled for release this month but has now been postponed to October 6, 2023. The movie has generated high expectations among fans.

Additionally, Kapoor is preparing for her Telugu debut in the film “Devara” alongside Jr NTR. While she has already completed a small schedule for the film, Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan are currently shooting for their respective roles.

As fans eagerly await the release of “Ulajh,” the delay caused by the flood crisis highlights the unpredictable nature of filmmaking and the importance of prioritizing safety in such situations.
