The highly successful Drishyam franchise is set to captivate audiences once again with its third instalment. According to recent developments, Drishyam 3 is scheduled to commence production in 2024, with plans to release both the Hindi and Malayalam versions simultaneously on the same date. The original Drishyam, released in Malayalam in 2013, later inspired remakes in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, featuring acclaimed actors such as Kamal Haasan, Venkatesh, and Ajay Devgn respectively. The subsequent sequels also garnered significant attention. While the Malayalam and Telugu versions were streamed on digital platforms, the Hindi remake’s second part enjoyed a blockbuster theatrical release in 2022.

The writers of the Hindi and Malayalam versions are collaborating on Drishyam 3, which is currently in the development stage. The report quoted a source saying, “Abhishek Pathak and his team of writers have devised a basic core plot for Drishyam 3, which has been well-received by Jeethu Joseph and his team. They have taken inspiration from the Hindi Drishyam team and are now working towards transforming it into a screenplay for Drishyam 3.”

The report further revealed that the teams from both versions are collaborating to shoot the films simultaneously. The goal is to release them together across India. While viewers in Kerala will witness the Malayalam version starring Mohanlal, audiences across the country can experience Ajay Devgn’s portrayal in the Hindi version. There is also a possibility that once the screenplay is finalized, the producers of the Telugu adaptation may also join in this release strategy.

The decision to release all versions simultaneously aims to provide audiences with a spoiler-free experience. “The power of Drishyam lies in its suspense, and as has happened in the past, there is a section of the audience that has already seen the version that arrives first. Everyone involved in Drishyam wants to offer the best experience to its viewers and avoid spoiling the twists and turns. Drishyam 3 will serve as the final film of the franchise, and what better way to enjoy the thrills and chills than to enter the cinema without any idea of what lies ahead,” stated an individual familiar with the project’s development.

The Drishyam franchise follows the journey of a man determined to protect his family amidst a series of incidents that threaten to unravel their lives.
